Ambassador James Kinobe Congratulate USUS Graduate

Ambassador James William Kinobe who hosted the event congratulated the fresh Graduates for their hard work, patience and dedication that has enabled each of them complete all the requirements in their various degrees and being allowed to graduate on time. He welcomed them to the world of work with a reminder that academics is not the only key to success but that they should have the right emotional and social skills to fit with the demands of the rapidly changing and dynamic world of work.

The Uganda Graduates of this batch were from two distinguished Universities in Sudan; International University of Africa and Ahfad University for Women. They were organized under their umbrella body, 'Uganda Student Union in Sudan' (USUS).

They were awarded degrees in various fields including Bachelor of Oral Medicine and Dental Surgery, Petroleum and Minerals, Engineering, Public Health, Education, Bachelor of Laws, Accounting, Political Science and Mass Communication.

The students who were under scholarship by Dawat-e-Islami Uganda had representation from the following Sub-regions: West Nile, Buganda, Busoga, Bugisu, Bunyoro and Ankole.

The students overwhelmingly appreciated the enormous support by the Embassy which ranged from financial, social and emotional. This enabled them to thrive amidst all difficulties, noting that the conducive environment they have enjoyed in Sudan is clearly as a result of strong and good diplomatic relations the two countries share.

Under Consular Department headed by Mr. Robert Kamugisha, closely coordinated by Ms. Phoebe Sagala (a.k.a Mama Embassy by Uganda Student Community in Sudan) and, Mr. Innocent Opio Q, The Accounting Officer, The Embassy manages student affairs and  programme.

It is important to note that during upheavals of the political crisis in Sudan and Covid-19 pandemic the support required was beyond the Missions budget.

The Ambassador was flanked by Mr.  Dickson Ogwang the Deputy Chief of Mission and Head of Chancery.
